How to order doTERRA oils, and how the points work
Last updated: 28 August 2026
There are two ways to buy doTERRA oils, and the difference between them is worth understanding before you order anything. One is buying at the retail price with no account. The other is opening a wholesale account, which costs something to start and then changes every price you see.
This page explains both, what the ordering screens actually look like, and how the loyalty programme works — so that nothing on the way to checkout is a surprise.
The two prices
Every product in doTERRA’s European shop is shown with two figures. In the German-language shop they are labelled VK-Preis and EK-Preis; in the English one, Retail and Wholesale.
- Retail is what you pay without an account. You can order this way, and nothing more is required of you.
- Wholesale is what account holders pay. It is the lower of the two figures, and it applies to everything in the shop, not to a selected range.
Because the difference applies to every order rather than to a first order, the question is not really “is it cheaper” but “how often will I buy”. Someone who wants one bottle of Lavender is fine at retail. Someone who is going to keep a small shelf of oils in the kitchen will notice the difference within a couple of orders.
No prices are published on this site, because they differ by market and change. The current figure for your country is always on the product page in your own shop.
Ordering without an account
- Open the product page for the oil you want. Every oil in the directory links to the shop for your own market — Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or Ireland.
- Check the country shown at the top of the shop. Prices, shipping and availability all differ by market, and ordering from the wrong one is the commonest mistake.
- Add to basket and check out as a guest.
That is the whole process. No membership, no minimum, no recurring anything.
Opening a wholesale account
The account is what doTERRA calls a Wellness Advocate or Wholesale Customer account. Both give the wholesale price; they differ in whether you also want the option of referring other people.
The enrolment flow asks you, in this order:
- Your country and language. This decides which shop you belong to and cannot be casually changed later, so choose the country you actually live in.
- A starter kit, or your own selection. Kits are bundles at a set price; the alternative is choosing products individually and paying the enrolment fee separately.
- Your details and payment.
The membership page has the enrolment link for each of the five markets, and sets out what the account does and does not commit you to.
The loyalty programme
doTERRA runs a loyalty scheme for account holders — in English usually shortened to LRP. The principle is simple: orders you place through the programme earn points, and points can be spent as product.
Three things about it are worth knowing before you switch it on:
- It is optional. An account works perfectly well without ever using it.
- The rate rises the longer you stay on it, which means it rewards steadiness rather than volume.
- You control the order. The contents and the date are yours to change or cancel each month, and nothing ships without the order you set.
The exact percentages, the qualifying rules and the way points expire are set by doTERRA and change from time to time. Rather than repeat numbers here that could go stale, the current terms for your market are in your own account under the loyalty section, and on doTERRA’s own pages.
Common questions
Do I have to sell anything?
No. A wholesale account is a buying account. Referring other people is possible, not required, and nothing about the account changes if you never do it.
Is there a minimum order?
Not for ordinary orders. The loyalty programme has its own minimum for an order to qualify, which is shown when you set one up.
Can I change country later?
Not easily, and it is worth getting right at enrolment. The account belongs to a market, and that market sets your prices, your shipping and which products you can see.
What happens to my account if I stop ordering?
Accounts renew annually. If you let the renewal lapse the account closes and you go back to retail prices; nothing else happens.
Who do I ask if something goes wrong with an order?
doTERRA’s own customer service handles orders, payments, delivery and returns — this site cannot see your order. Their contact details for the European market are in the shop footer.
A note on what this page is
This is an independent information site run by a doTERRA Wellness Advocate. It is not an official doTERRA website, and the links on it are referral links: if you order through one, I may receive credit at no extra cost to you. Prices, terms and the loyalty rules are doTERRA’s and can change — where this page and their shop disagree, their shop is right.
