About this site and how it is written

Last updated: 28 August 2026

Aroma Essential Oils is an independent information site about essential oils, written in English and German, and it is not an official doTERRA website. I am a doTERRA Wellness Advocate, which means that if you buy through a link on this site I may receive referral credit — at no extra cost to you. That is stated on every page that carries such a link.

The site covers the European market: Germany, Austria, German-speaking Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Why this site exists

Most of what is written in English about cooking with essential oils comes from the United States, where the same oils are labelled differently. Follow an American recipe exactly and you can end up using an oil in a way its European label does not cover. Wild Orange and Bergamot are the clearest examples: treated as ingestible in American material, marked for external use only on their European product information sheets.

This site exists to say, oil by oil and in two languages, what the European label actually permits.

How these pages are written

These are the rules I hold myself to. They are worth stating plainly, because they are what makes the difference between this site and a recipe blog.

What this site is not

It is not medical advice, and I am not a doctor or a pharmacist. For children, pregnancy, breastfeeding, existing conditions or medication, ask a qualified professional first — those are different questions with different answers.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, I would rather know. Write to contact and tell me which page and what is wrong, and I will correct it or remove it.
