Become a doTERRA Wellness Advocate

Last updated: 23 August 2026

Most people who end up with a doTERRA account never intended to sell anything. They bought oils, kept buying them, and worked out that there is a cheaper way to do that. This page explains what the options actually are, without the enthusiasm.

There are two different things, and they get confused constantly

A Wholesale Customer account

You pay a one-off enrolment fee, or buy a starter kit which usually includes it, and you then buy at wholesale prices — normally around 25% below retail — for a year. You are not signing up to sell anything, you have no targets, and nobody expects you to recruit anyone. Most people should choose this.

A Wellness Advocate account

The same wholesale pricing, plus the ability to share a referral link and earn on what people buy through it. It is the option I use. It also comes with terms, a compensation plan and — if you ever want to talk publicly about the products — a set of advertising rules you have to follow.

What I am not going to tell you is what you might earn. I do not know, it depends entirely on what you do, and most people who enrol as advocates earn nothing because they never intended to. Anyone who quotes you a figure is guessing.

Enrolling in the right country

doTERRA runs a separate shop for each market, and this matters more than it sounds. The prices differ, the product availability differs, and — as this whole site keeps pointing out — the labelling differs. An oil sold as a food flavouring in one market may be labelled for topical use only in another.

Enrol in the country you actually live in, and order from that shop.

Country Shop Enrolment link
Germany shop.doterra.com/DE Enrol in the Germany shop
Austria shop.doterra.com/AT Enrol in the Austria shop
Switzerland shop.doterra.com/CH Enrol in the Switzerland shop
United Kingdom shop.doterra.com/GB Enrol in the United Kingdom shop
Ireland shop.doterra.com/IE Enrol in the Ireland shop

Why four of these say “ask me” rather than showing a link. A referral link only credits the right person if it is generated correctly, for the right market, in doTERRA’s own link generator. I would rather send you one I have generated and checked than publish a link I have guessed at and cannot verify. Write to me and you will have it the same day.

What happens when you enrol

  1. Choose your country and open the enrolment page for that market.
  2. Choose an account type — Wholesale Customer or Wellness Advocate. You can change from customer to advocate later; you do not have to decide now.
  3. Choose a kit, or just pay the enrolment fee. Kits are usually better value than the same bottles bought separately, but there is no obligation to buy one.
  4. Check the enroller shown at checkout. If you used my link it should be me. If it shows someone you have never heard of, stop and start again from the link — this is the step where attribution gets lost.
  5. Renewal. The wholesale price lasts a year. Renewal is a small annual fee; doTERRA usually includes a free bottle of oil with it.

What I do, and what I do not do

I answer questions about which oil does what in a European kitchen or bathroom, how to dilute things properly, and which oils are and are not permitted as food flavourings here. I keep the directory of all 78 European oils on this site up to date from doTERRA’s own product information sheets.

I do not give medical advice, I do not diagnose anything, and I will not tell you that an oil treats a condition. If something needs a doctor, it needs a doctor.

Common questions

Do I have to sell anything?

No. A Wholesale Customer account has no selling requirement of any kind. Even as an advocate, there is no obligation to sell or recruit.

Is there a monthly order requirement?

Not to keep an account. There are optional programmes that reward regular ordering, but nothing is compulsory to keep buying at wholesale prices.

Can I enrol in a different country to get better prices?

Shipping, tax and support all follow the market you enrol in, and the labelling you receive will be that market’s labelling. Enrol where you live.

What does it cost?

Prices change and differ by market, so no figure is quoted here — you will see the current one on the enrolment page for your country. This site does not publish prices, because there is no reliable way to keep them accurate for every market.

Can I change from customer to advocate later?

Yes, and it is a simple change inside your account.

Disclosure

The enrolment links on this page are referral links. If you enrol through one, doTERRA records me as your enroller, and I may receive a referral commission on what you order — at no additional cost to you. That is the arrangement, stated plainly.

This is an independent website run by a doTERRA Wellness Advocate. It is not an official doTERRA website, and doTERRA has not reviewed or approved its content. Nothing here is medical advice, and no claim is made that essential oils diagnose, prevent, treat or cure any condition. No representation is made about income — most people who enrol never earn anything, because most people enrol to buy oils rather than to sell them.
